Restaurants, that’s one of the many things that Brussels can give you. You can have a great time with your friends, family, colleagues or partner while enjoying a nice meal together.

BRUNCHY

What’s a better idea than sharing some quality time together with your friends or family members, by telling each other stories around a nice brunch? Brunchy is a perfect place to share a nice brunch, because yes that is of course their specialty. You can have a salty or sweet brunch, they have so many choices, you can be sure to find your pleasure! The place itself is a little bit small, but that’s what makes the place friendly. For cheese-lovers I recommend the “Croque-Monsieur”, it’s a must-taste! The toasts are spread with cream cheese and a slice of well-melted Gouda cheese. On the croque monsieur you can find a delicious fried egg in the shape of a heart, enough to send you love in the morning.

LA CREME

La Crème is a coffee & tea room situated in Koekelberg. This is my second favourite place to brunch. If you love the Moroccan culture, I invite you to taste the home-made “msemen” and the “baghrir” or in other words, the 1000 holes. If you like freshly squeezed orange juice, you are in the right place, because it is included in all menus. If you are a cheese fanatic, there is also a menu with a large assortment of cheese, everything to please your stomach! The garlands that are hung on the walls make the room very cosy. If I can give you one advise for this restaurant, it’s to call them in advance to find out if there are tables available.

BAGEL JACKSON

If you want to eat some American food at a place with an American vibe, I advise you to try the Bagel Jackson. I heard a lot of positive comments about this place, so I decided  to make my own opinion. When I entered the restaurant, I immediately had the feeling that I was in America due to the decor. The staff are very friendly, it’s impossible not to laugh with them. Once we received the menu, we took a long time before deciding what we were going to eat. That is because there are so many choices you can choose from. You have the choice between bagels or hot-dogs. You can also eat nachos with melted cheddar cheese, which gives a Latina touch. I chose the “Ernesto”, it is a bagel with mozzarella, pesto, tomato and fried onions. The prices are really cheap for what it’s worth.

MAKIFORNIA

Do you like Japanese food? Do you like raw fish wrapped in rice? Then you absolutely have to try Makifornia! This Japanese restaurant, situated near the train station Brussels South, makes the best sushi’s ever. Makifornia welcomes you in their beautiful, relaxed and friendly place. You don’t like raw fish, but you still want to eat Japanese food? Don’t you worry about that, because Makifornia has a wide choice. The menu is suitable for everyone. You can eat beef, chicken and also vegetarian sushi. If you’re not a fan of sushi, don’t you worry about that, because they also propose “Donburi”. Which is a bowl of rice with garnitures. You also have “Udon”, which is a bowl of noodles with garnitures.  You can choose between a bowl of beef, salmon, chicken, tuna but also vegetarian bowls.
