Are you a coffee lover and would you like to try out cozy coffee bars in Brussels, but don’t know where to start? Then this is the place to be! Today I’ll take you to my personal favourite coffee bars in the centre of Brussels.
Specifically:
- Kami
- Buddy Buddy
- Gruun Plants & Coffee
- Hinterlan

Kami
Brussels has been blessed with numerous coffee shops in recent years, and Kami is one of the newer additions. Kami is a Japanese-inspired coffee shop located in the north-east of Brussels. Elias and Clara, owners of Kami, fell in love with the country on their return from Japan and named their tent after a Japanese good luck charm. The highlight of this beautiful and unique coffee shop is that the coffee is organically roasted in Belgium at Kolonel. Besides coffee, you will also find Belgian beers, hot chocolate, different kinds of teas and fresh fruit juices. So no matter what time you visit, there is always something to drink! Moreover, the coffee shop is decorated mainly in light brown-coloured wooden furniture accentuated by light and simple decor. Cozy place it is!
- Location: Old corn shop 36, 9000 Brussels
- Opening hours: Every day from 10:00 – 18:00

Buddy Buddy
A vegan speciality coffee bar? Yes, it is! Buddy Buddy is entirely plan-based with coffee beans from MOK coffee in Brussels. What makes the coffee shop even more special is that they have their own nut workshop. Their nut spreads, nut butters and special drinks are made in their own nut atelier. Plants, shelves, a bar and wooden chairs are found in almost every coffee shop. Buddy Buddy has a slightly more special interior, the metallic red kitchen, bar and seating areas give the coffee shop a spectacular look. The front of the coffee shop has some warm colours and low seating. Both colours complement each other and this makes the interior a little more special.
- Location: Lakenweverstraat 10, 1050 Brussels
- Opening hours: Every day from: 10:00 – 18:00

Gruun Plants & Coffee
Drinking a coffee surrounded by bright green plants? Then Gruun Plants & Coffe is the ideal place to enjoy a cheap coffee with friends or family. The cosy plant shop welcomes everyone to enjoy a quick coffee or homemade iced tea. If you prefer a gin or tonic, that’s no problem, they serve those too! Gruun Plants & coffee works with local partners to offer quality products surrounded by greenery. Gruun Plants & Coffee is the ideal place to enjoy your coffee in a peaceful environment after a busy day.

Hinterland
Hinterland is not only a place where you can enjoy tasty coffees, but also a bar where you can have a healthy breakfast and lunch. All ingredients are environmentally friendly and organic. In the coffee shop, this can be seen in the sustainable packaging used and the vegetarian options on the table. Hinterland is located near the Horta Museum in Brussels. Let yourself be surprised by the ultra funky drinks that Hinterland has to offer: an ice matcha latte or coconut milk with herbs, it’s worth a try! During the weekend there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the air, so don’t leave your friends and family at home!
