As a student myself, I was curious to know where you can study in the center of Brussels and where you also can drink a cup of coffee or tea while studying, so I did a little investigation and now share with you these 6 coffee houses that I have tried myself.
1. Ana Attento Coffee & Tea specialty bar
Adress: Auguste Ortsstraat 9, 1000 Brussel
Opening hours:
every day: 10h – 17h
Availabilities: Free Wifi
This coffee house, also known as OR Coffee, can also be found in Ghent. It is a coffee bar that serves coffee, tea, and food such as toast and yogurt. For the students who study at the Erasmushogeschool and the RITCS it is not far away. You can find this famous coffee bar at the Beurs, opposite the Beursschouwburg. Even though this is a very common coffee shop on itself, you should not be put off by the crowds, because from what I have experienced, this was not the case. But don’t worry if it does! Besides Ana Attento, there are 5 more coffee houses in the center that I have tried and where you can go to.

This coffee bar which is also very popular with the locals, serves coffee, tea, other drinks and pastries. Even though this place can be quite busy and have a long queue, it is a pleasant place to study. Café Capitale has seats if you want to sit on something more comfortable than a chair. This coffee cottage is located close to the City Hall of Brussels and the Grand Place.
3. Yuka Espresso bar
Adress: Anspachlaan 166, 1000 Brussel
Opening hours:
Monday / Wednesday – Friday: 8h – 18h
Tuesday: closed
Saturday – Sunday: 10h – 18h Availabilities: Free Wifi
On the well-known Anspachlaan, you will find a small but practical coffee cottage, called Yuka Espresso bar. Behind the counter there is a very social and kind man who likes to chat with his customers, despite his social-ness he will not disturb you or come to you when you are sitting at your table. In this coffee house you can order coffee, tea, breakfast and cake. When I went it was not busy at all, so excellent to concentrate on your work.

When you leave Brussels Central Station and go to the Ravensteinstreet, you will see Café Boudin. When I went I sat outside on the terrace, of course you can also sit inside where there are plants above the lamp, as you can see in the picture I took. From the outside, you also have a lovely view of the Bozart art center, which is located just opposite the coffee house. In Café Boudin you can, like the other coffee houses I have described to you, drink coffee and tea, but you can also order beer and pastries here. For students studying at the KU Leuven Campus Brussels, this is a 5-minute walk away.
