One of the museums that might not be at the top of your list when you think of Brussels is the Horta Museum, although Victor Horta is the most important art nouveau architect and his buildings are well recognised in the streetscape of Brussels. Therefore, I thought it was a good idea and about time that I paid a visit to this museum of one of Brussels’ most famous art nouveau architects.

Hi, my name is Thijs, and I am 20 years old. I was born in the charming city of Leuven and I also work there as a receptionist in a hotel during weekends. Before I came to Brussels to study tourism, I first went to boarding school in Koksijde for 6 years, where I learned how to cook and had the opportunity to do an internship in a 2-star restaurant. In this two-star restaurant located in Uccle, 'Le chalet de la Forêt', I really learned what it is to maintain such a high level but also to enjoy the free moments. Because without enjoying the free moments, it is impossible to maintain this level. Apart from the fact that I love cooking and especially good food with an accompanying wine, I really love traveling with my parents I have already been able to go to a few countries such as Spain, France, Morocco and Kenya, and with friends I have also been on holiday to Budapest and New York. Where I also like to take my time to enjoy it. And to discover new things abroad, both food and culture. Because in my opinion enjoying life is still the most important thing.
